Following a victory over Simpson College on Feb. 18, the Wartburg Women’s Basketball team secured not only the regular season American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) champion title, but the No. 1 seed in the A-R-C tournament. The 2026 regular season title marks the team’s fourth consecutive championship and 13th in program history.
With a first-round bye in the A-R-C championship tournament, the Knights faced the No. 5 A-R-C ranked Luther College on Feb. 26. The Norse defeated Simpson College during the first round of the A-R-C tournament on Feb. 24 with a final score of 77-72.
In their face off against Luther, the Knights utilized a strong defense and stronger offense to defeat the Norse with a final score of 61-45. Key player Katelyn Aden earned 12 points for the Knights, a career high for the freshman. Laynee Hogan also put up 10 points for the Knights as a freshman.
With a victory over Luther College, the Knights advance to the final round of the A–R–C tournament with a 16-game win streak and an A-R-C record of 15-1 and an overall record of 20-6.
The Knights are set to face the No. 2 A-R-C ranked Coe College on Saturday, Feb. 28 for the A-R-C tournament championship game. The Knights will host the game in Levick Arena at 4 p.m. and the winner of the game will advance to the NCAA tournament.
