Over the week-long winter break from March 2-6, four of Wartburg College’s athletic teams traveled to various cities in Florida to compete in softball, baseball and tennis tournaments.
The Warburg Softball team traveled to Clearmont, Florida for the Spring Games tournament and Melbourne, Florida for the Space Coast Spring Games tournament. During the week, the team went 8-2 to bring their overall season record to 10-4, ending the trip with a six-game win streak.
On March 5, following a 2-0 finish at the Space Coast Spring Games, Head Coach Jamie Meuller secured her 228th win as head coach, becoming the all-time winningest coach in Wartburg Softball program history
After their successful week in Florida, two Wartburg Softball athletes were recognized with American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) honors. Senior Alexis Larson earned both the Female Athlete of the Week and Position Player of the Week, and junior Jillian Panther earned Pitcher of the Week.

Over the break, the Wartburg Baseball team traveled to Auburndale, Florida for the RussMatt Invitational, going 4-3 for the week, bringing their overall record to 7-3. The team ended their trip down south with a four-game win streak.
On the final day, sophomore Emerson Alberhasky recorded a season-high 10-strikeout game through all seven innings, allowing just three runs.

The Wartburg Women’s Tennis team traveled to Altamonte Springs, Orlando and Cocoa Beach for several opportunities to compete. Beginning on March 2, the Knights defeated Adrian College in Casselberry, Florida and Concordia College in Orlando, Florida. Against Adrian College, senior Tori Johnson earned her 35th career doubles win while junior Brooke Bloom earned her 10th doubles win of the season.
Rounding out the week, the Wartburg Women’s Tennis team would defeat Concordia University and Rose-Hulman University, losing only to Trine University and John Carrol University. With a 4-2 record on the week, they bring their overall record for the 2025-26 academic year to 16-6 and their spring record to 5-3.
With just nine games left in the 2025-26 season, the Wartburg Women’s Tennis team is three victories away from breaking a program record of games won in a singular season. During the 2024-25 season, the team tied for the program record with 18 wins.
Looking ahead, the Knights are set to play the University of Northwestern and the University of Wisconsin-Superior in Rogers, Minnesota on Saturday, March 21. The spring home opener for the women’s team will be Wednesday, March 25 against Saint Ambrose University at 2 p.m.. Alongside the women’s team, the Wartburg Men’s Tennis team traveled to compete in various matches around Florida. Starting on March 2, the Knights defeated Adrian College in Casselberry, Florida. Later in the day, the Knight fell short to Concordia College in Orlando, Florida. With the win over Adrian College, sophomore Benny Ramker secured his 20th career doubles win.
Throughout the rest of the week, the Knights would lose to Trine University, John Carroll University and Rose Hulman University, ending their week in Florida with a 1-4 record, bringing their overall record for the 2025-26 year to 5-11.
