On Monday, Feb. 9, the Zesty Orange was closed for the day after a small fire was extinguished around 7 a.m. by front desk student-workers of The W and a bystander.
The student-worker who first suspected the fire explained how they saw the flickering flames in the reflection of the front entrance windows of The W.
Once the student-workers on the clock approached the fire, a bystander used a nearby fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
It appeared that the Valentine’s Day decorations that were hung up in The Zesty had caught fire after nearby lights became too hot.
Following the event, an announcement in The Juice stated that the space needed to be thoroughly cleaned after a fire extinguisher was utilized to contain a small fire.
The Zesty Orange is now open again and operating as normal.
